Hichi buku goshin jutsu ryu (the tradition of the secret flower opening school for the defence of the self) is the ancient traditional healing art of Japan, the main purpose of which is the restoration of the body's ability to heal itself through gentle manipulation of ligaments and skeletal muscular systems, etc Amatsu Tatara (meaning "Sky Harbour" or literally Divine Residence/Gods Port) is a collaboration of martial arts, medicine, philosophy and stragegy that has been practiced in Japan for over two thousand years. Its principals and practices have recently been rediscovered in the West and clinically evaluated. Maasaki Hatsumi, the 24th Grandmaster of Togakure ryu and founder of the International Bujinkan Hombo Dojo, was born December 2, 1931, in Noda City, Chiba Perfecture, Japan. He graduated from Meji University, Literature Department and later went on to receive his Doctor degree from a medical school located in Yotsuya. He trained for over fifteen years in kobudo, thereafter becoming apprenticed to the late Toshitsuga Takamatsu who lived in Kashiwara, Nara Province. Medical science is dedicated to the betterment of health and the relief of suffering and yet the misuse of drugs and the exultation of the physicians's skills can lead to a state where an individual's health is no longer within his or her control. |
